Project direction

Read together. Listen closely. Grow understanding.

The Multilingual Story Library is a developing KOKOSHUNGSAN initiative. It explores thoughtful ways for stories, reading guidance and audio-led learning to feel welcoming to young readers, families and educators.

A shared story can be a gentle place to meet—across ages, experiences and languages.

The project is being shaped around curiosity, care and meaningful participation rather than one-size-fits-all learning.

Three connected pathways

One story can open more than one way to learn.

The initiative is exploring a flexible ecosystem that can support different reading preferences and everyday learning settings.

📖01 · STORY

Stories across languages

Exploring bilingual and multilingual story formats that recognise the languages young readers bring with them.

🎧02 · LISTEN

Listening with intention

Considering audio-led moments that can support independent listening, shared attention and a love of language.

💬03 · REFLECT

Conversations that continue

Exploring simple prompts that help children and adults respond to a story in their own words.

Designed around real settings

A library shaped for reading beyond the page.

The intention is to support the relationships around a story as well as the reading experience itself.

For young readers

Space to recognise yourself—and discover someone else.

Stories can help children connect language, imagination and everyday feelings in ways that are personal and shared.

Families and carers

Exploring approachable ways to make reading, listening and conversation part of daily life.

Teachers and schools

Considering adaptable prompts and resources that may complement classroom learning and reading culture.

Libraries and communities

Exploring inclusive story moments that can bring people together around language, memory and imagination.

Guiding principles

Care in the details matters.

As the concept develops, KOKOSHUNGSAN is using these principles to help guide its direction and decisions.

01

Accessibility

Considering different ways readers may engage with words, sound and ideas.

02

Respect

Valuing languages, cultures and family knowledge without reducing them to a theme.

03

Connection

Making room for conversation between children, adults, peers and communities.

04

Curiosity

Encouraging questions, reflection and the confidence to explore new perspectives.

Development status

Being shaped with care, one thoughtful step at a time.

This is an early-stage initiative, not yet a public catalogue, course or enrolment service. Updates will be shared as the project’s direction becomes clearer.

  1. Explore the learning needClarify how story, language and family learning can connect meaningfully.
  2. Develop accessible ideasConsider formats and guidance that can be flexible for different readers and settings.

A shared future

More languages. More listening. More ways to belong.

The Multilingual Story Library is part of KOKOSHUNGSAN’s broader exploration of education, publishing and culturally responsive learning.
